Downhole Video Camera
The Hill Country Underground Water Conservation District, in partnership with four other Hill Country groundwater conservation districts (Bandera County River Authority and Groundwater District – Bandera County, Blanco-Pedernales Groundwater Conservation District – Blanco County, Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District – Burnet County, and Comal Trinity Groundwater Conservation District ) has purchased a downhole video camera. The downhole video camera is a tool that can be used to help identify the conditions underground or to record and document activities within a well. It can be rotated 360 degrees to help diagnosis down well problems (i.e. well casing cracks, plugged or offset perforations, deformed casing) and locating lost pumps and tools. The video can provide the District and or well owner with the means to visualize below ground conditions. Should your well experience problems, and the District determines that running a video of the well aid in diagnosing the problem, then the District will video your well at no cost and provide a video to the landowner. To video a well the only requirement is that it must not currently be equipped with a pump.
